I will be with you

I will be with you
through the long dark nights
I will be beside you
reaching out for your hand
protecting you

I will be by your side
drifting into your senses
And as you sleep, my spirit
Will seep into your bones

In the coldest days of winter
I will wrap you in summer warmth
And on stifling days
I will sprinkle cool kisses
upon your skin

I will watch over you as the new born buds
share their first fragrance of spring
Then as the orange blaze of autumn
turns storm drenched paths to pools of ice

I will leave my thoughts behind for you
As I blow a cloud through your hair
The lightest mist, a kiss

  1. Beautiful and more so because of it's purity.

It's obviously a tale of love but the only thing made obvious is the love itself, and all other assumptions are left to the interpretation of the reader.

It could be from one lover to another, or even from a parent to a child.

    Very clever. very good.

  2. I see this poem as being about loving someone through all of the seasons, through the passing of time itself; an endless, selfless poignant love that whispers between souls.

Its beautiful. Thank you, Ali x
